Some 13 workers from the Water Resources (SDA) Task Force have started dredging the 150-meter-long drain on Jalan Raya Kelapa Dua Wetan, RT 07/07 Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/23). It aims to anticipate flooding when it rains heavily.

Ciracas Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head Yulia Indah said the dredging has been ongoing since Tuesday (3/22). It was carried out, as the drain was full of mud up to 70 centimeters thus could not accommodate the water maximally.
"If it is ignored, it will trigger flooding when it rains," she said, Wednesday (3/23).
